I am a goody-two-shoes. Usually.

by VM Brasseur on September 20th, 2005

I recycle. A lot. Everything.

I take the bus. When possible, I ride my bike or walk instead of driving.

I go to the gym. I do yoga. I go walking with a friend at lunch.

I buy organic. I buy local. I cook all my own food and even make my own stock.

I don’t eat junk food. Lunch today was spinach and black lentils on quinoa, a bowl of mixed veggies (raw), a gala apple and some green tea. And I really liked it.

I don’t watch TV.

I am a member of my local public radio station and think Prairie Home Companion is a good time.

I talk to my parents on the phone at least twice a week.

When did I turn into this boring seemingly-self-righteous altruistic fuddy-duddy stick-in-the-mud? Sheesh. Reading that list even makes me want to smack myself. Good grief…

You may SEEM like a boring seemingly-self-righteous altruistic fuddy-duddy stick-in-the-mud, but I know from experience that you can be led astray without too much ado – so that saves you from actually BEING a BSSRAFDSITM.

  3. Go out and buy a 7-11 hot dog. And a coffee that comes in a foam cup. Eat half of the hot dog; drink half of the coffee. Leave both of them on the sidewalk. You think you’re being bad, but really you’re being good: somebody will come by and eat the rest of the hot dog. Ah, scenic Piedmont.

I heard about the new De Young on NPR today. How I miss california.

I got panhandled for the first time in Delaware today. How I don’t miss california.

    Oops, there go my pants.

  4. Piedmont? Get with the times, buddy. It’s Petaluma now. But someone would still probably eat the hotdog.

  5. Oh right. Somehow people kind of get stuck in temporal stasis when I’m not around anymore. One of those brain issues.

  6. All you need is to download the new firmware and do a quick reboot and you’ll be right as rain. Your brain will, anyway. There’s no helping your pants.

  7. I don’t know, I read the list and was rather impressed…?

  8. Impressed? Golly…
