Tom Waits' Orphans

by VM Brasseur on October 31st, 2006

Good news for the two or three readers (aside from myself) who actually enjoy* his work! After far too long a wait, Tom Waits is about to release a new album. Three of them, actually. The title of the collection is Orphans and it’s composed of three separate discs. The first one, Brawlers, contains bluesy rock tracks. Bawlers are the ballads and waltzes. Bastards is the disc I will probably never play for company as it will be some of Waits’ more experimental works.

It’s available for pre-order on Amazon now. The release date is November 21 so you have time to scrape together your pennies before this one hits the shelves.

* If you’re not familiar with Tom Waits’ music yet it’s probably safe for you to assume that you won’t like it, though I still encourage you to give it a try. Just don’t start with Orphans.

  1. Turns out there are more Waits fans in the audience than I was expecting. And now there’s one more, since Guy has discovered (no surprise) that he likes it as well.

J.R., as stated before, many people try to rock. Few succeed. You are one of them.

  2. Woo! Tom Waits! Woo! Rock on, Brother Tom!
