Balance

1 minute read

It’s all about balance.

In September I decided to go all drastic-like and eat almost nothing but salads. Large variety of veggies and very tasty but plain veggies nevertheless. About three weeks into it my body threw in the towel and staged a mutiny. There was pizza. There was take-out Chinese food. There was chocolate (I don’t even like chocolate that much). It wasn’t pretty.

Lately I’ve been working a lot. Even more than normal. Like more than twelve hours a day. There has been no gym-going. There has been no house-keeping. There has been no Moira-loving. Net result? As fast as things are removed from the front of my to-do list new items are added to the end and I’m close to hitting a wall, mentally. Plus my apartment is now a disaster.

No more. The salads? They can stay, but only if accompanied by the things that make life worth living like bread and cheese. Work? OK, I can work in the evening after I leave the office. But only if I go to the gym and only if I stop working at least an hour before bedtime and spend some major downtime on the couch with the geriatric feline.

You see? It’s all about the balance.

Now if you’ll excuse me there’s a cat here which is lacking one lap and I’ve been keeping her waiting far too long.
