Yes, I know. I’ve been remiss in posting. Again.
Truth be told, I’ve been trying to reduce my computer usage outside of the office. Today is the first day in two weeks that I’ve booted up the laptop at home and I’ll readily admit that it’s been a very pleasant two weeks indeed. I’ve spent a lot of time at the gym (which I guess I did before the lapse in online time), cooked a lot of food, watched a lot of movies, knitted, gone out with friends… Pretty much everything except for logging in. I’ve spent a few days near Philadelphia in that time. There was even one night where I went to bed before 9pm just because I felt like it.
Not that there’s any major problem with spending time online, but I was finding that being online in the evening usually ended up with me fretting about something work-related and that was starting to wear me down. My work was suffering. My life was suffering. I was getting seriously cranky. It was getting ugly so I took action.
These past two weeks have been a vacation of sorts and thus far it appears to have helped. Crankiness? Mostly gone. Work? Getting better. Attitude? Improving.
