After several years I finally resubscribed to Clarkesworld.

Overall, I enjoyed this issue, reading a story a night before falling asleep.

There were seven new short stories in this issue, plus a few nonfiction pieces (that I confess I mostly skipped, aside from the Editor’s Desk). I enjoyed all of thes stories this time. Hummingbird, Resting on Honeysuckles, written by Yang Wanqing and translated from Chinese by Jay Zhang, stood out for its emotional effect. Calf Cleaving in the Benthic Black by Isabel J. Kim left me wanting to know what happened next to the characters.

If you haven’t checked out Clarkesworld yet, please do. An eBook subscription is quite reasonable!
