Book Review: The Bright and Breaking Sea by Chloe Neill

I knew nothing about this book going into it aside from it having a ‘Fantasy’ sticker on its spine and it was something about ships. It was a library book, so it’s not like I’d lose much aside from time if I didn’t end up liking it.

It was…fine. I mean, I finished it, so it had to have been OK. But it was all so very predictable. Some small amount of magic came into play (much less than I’d have expected and preferred). Many buckles were swashed for queen and country.

It was an adequate way to pass the time, but I don’t feel compelled to seek out the next book in the series.
