I just received the following message from my good friend Dennis:

Dear Vicky,

It’s that time of year again. It’s getting close to 20 years that I’ve been doing the walk, and for the last 3, I’ve been one of the top 100 individual fund raisers. So in addition to wanting to continue to raise a lot of funds, I must admit that my pride demands that I stay in that top 100!

The real reason I continue to walk is that I’m one of the lucky people for whom HIV has not meant a death sentence. I was lucky enough to respond to the medications with only a few side effects back in the mid-90s and have stayed lucky in that regard. I still mourn many friends and acquaintances who weren’t as fortunate, and I hope the funds I help raise will prevent others from mourning their loved ones

So click the magic link or send me a check payable to “AIDS Walk San Francisco” (or “AWSF”) and help me spread my good luck.

Thanks in advance for your generosity.

Follow This Link{.broken_link} to visit my personal web page and help me in my efforts to support AIDS Walk San Francisco.

I intend to donate after the 10th (the next payday). If you care about supporting AIDS research (and, really, who with a heart in their body doesn’t?) then I suggest you not wait that long and donate now{.broken_link}!

Donate!{.broken_link} It’s good karma!{.broken_link} Plus Dennis is a great guy and deserves our support!{.broken_link}

I think I just used up my May 2008 quota for exclamation points but, hey, it’s for a good cause.
