So I’m in the process of purchasing a ticket for a show in May.

Ticket for the show: $39.75
Ticketmaster Convenience Charge (per ticket): $9.30
Ticketmaster Order Processing Charge: $4.85
Total: $53.90

That’s a 36% premium on top of the already not inexpensive ticket price. Thirty six percent. Thankfully I didn’t opt to pay the $2.50 for the honor of printing out my advertisement-riddled tickets on my own paper.

I understand that there have to be some sort of extra fees to help support the technology and infrastructure behind the ticketing system, but this is getting out of control.

The online order has been canceled. The box office for this show is only open for six hours and only on Sundays, but right now it’s worth it to me to drive to San Francisco and stand in line to avoid supporting this kind of business practice.
