I’ve been working in the kitchen all evening and my house smells fantastic because of it. The culprits:

  • Ratatouille, cooked this evening in anticipation of needing to eat tasty food all week for lunch and featuring my first successfully home-grown herbs.
  • Lentil salad composed of Lentils de Puy, mirepois, bacon and a Banyuls vinaigrette, prepped for tomorrow’s Memorial Day duck grill fest at the Albertellis’. Mmm…duck… Mmm…lentils…

Not contributing to the fantastic aroma but still pretty darn keen:

  • Two decent bottles of red wine (a zin and a cab), just dropped off by my upstairs neighbors in payment for the wireless internet I provide them. I should just post a sign outside my house: “WILL ISP FOR ZIN.”
