This year for Christmas the Albertellis requested a made-to-order afghan.

The Albertelli Afghan, 2006 Model When I started this project I admit that I was skeptical. I didn’t like the pattern at all. It seemed too loose or something. By the time I completed the piece last night I was very deeply in smit with the afghan.

The afghan is made from 48 balls of Wool of the Andes{.broken_link} Peruvian wool from KnitPicks in color Hollyberry. It’s surprisingly soft for something that’s 100% wool. And it’s incredibly warm and comfortable. Moira and I field-tested the afghan last night and deemed it worthy of presenting to the Albertellis. Hopefully it should go in the mail to them this week and actually arrive in Michigan while it’s still cold and can be of some use.
